Bed and Breakfast - Fogo Island

Fogo Island, a mere 25 kms long and 14 kms wide, was first settled in 1680's, but the area remained relatively isolated well into the 20th century. Today, descendants of these first habitants retained traces of their Elizabethan dialect, which can be heard on the island today. Many ancient folk customs brought from England, now disappearing from many outports, continue in the communities on the island.
