This
course is a natural wonder in the city of St. John's. The golf holes are
separated by coniferous trees making each hole unique. The course has been
designed with generous tee decks and contoured fairway defined with
bunkers. The rolling landscape, connected with a continuous cart path,
makes for an enjoyable walk. The course is fully irrigated to
maintain optimum playing conditions.
A par 70 course, The Woods is
designed to favour a full spectrum of golfers. It is for the beginner and
average golfer who will play from either of two tee positions, 4487 yards
at the front or 5551 yards from the back tees.
The Woods stresses club selection and
strategic shot making in order to score well. An additional nine holes are
in the planning stages with an aim to open by 2008.
