Hiking &
Walking Trails - Avondale
It was known as Salmon Cove when the Anglo-Newfoundland
Telegraph Company opened a repeater station there in 1863. Avondale is
also the site of the oldest remaining station in the province. The
first settler known to have possessions in the area was J. Mahany in the
late 1790's.
