Cow Head is
the home of the Lobster Festival, held annually, providing lively,
traditional entertainment to residents, and visitors, of all ages. But
there's much more to see and do in Cow Head.
The sandy, shallow beach
provides excellent swimming, or you can dig clams and pick mussels. Cow Head
Summerside is an interesting hike across the peninsula. On the Summerside,
standing in its original state, is the
Lighthouse, built in 1909.
Shallow Bay Campground offers all the
services of any modern day park, plus kitchen shelters and an outdoor
theatre. A telescope provides an excellent view of the Terns (Seabirds) on
the islands just offshore. Being within the boundaries of Gros Morne
National Park, wildlife in the area is protected, and abundant. Visitors are
often entertained with sightings of moose, caribou, rare birds, etc. Cow
Head invites you! |
