Southern Newfoundland Seamen's Museum

A memorial to the many Newfoundland fishermen who lost their lives at sea, the museum is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the Burin Peninsula. The museum, (resembles the sails of a schooner), houses hundreds of artifacts such as ship models, photographs and documents, all of which depict Grand Bank's rich fishing history. Displayed on the exterior of the building is Atlantic Canada's largest mural. Painted to reflect the yesteryears, this mural provides the visitor  with a picturesque glimpse of what they are about to discover.
