St. Vincent's

| St Vincent's first appeared on a Portuguese map
as "Porta da Cruz" in 1519. By 1693 the area was known as "Holyrode"
and was marked as Holyrood on an English Chart of 1773. The earliest
record of settlement was the Census of 1836. In 1910 the Government
decided to change the name of Holyrood to St. Vincent's. |
