These days the Gander Airport is still the largest airport in the province and the town is a popular stop over for travelers on the Trans Canada Highway. Gander is also a good home base for exploring Central Newfoundland, the picturesque Kittiwake coast, the icebergs, Whales and Quaint Fishing Villages.
