The municipality of Anchor Point is located on Route 430 on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland & Labrador, approximately 350 kilometres North of Corner Brook. Anchor Point is the Oldest English Community on the Great Northern Peninsula settled in the late 1700's by the Genge Family of Somerset England.

Anchor Point's economy is predominantly centered around the fishery with many of the residents employed as fish harvesters, and the local shrimp plant which employs upwards of 150 people seasonally

In Anchor Point you will find the Oldest Consecrated Cemetery, a National Heritage Site "Deep Cove Winter Housing," Deep Cove Ski Club. If you are really lucky, you can see Whales jumping, Icebergs moving through the straits.
