Jamestown is a small community with a population of approximately 150. It is
located just past Portland on Route 234.
Jamestown was settled prior to 1870. The first settlers were Irish/English who
mostly fished and logged.
In the 1920's there was a Post Office. The mail used to come three times a week
by train. The mail had to be picked up and delivered to the train station in
Lethbridge.
