Hiking & Walking Trails - Glovertown

Glovertown is built around a large harbour opening into a "reach" extending about 32 kms to the open sea. In the early part of the century, the cod fishery, ship building and the lumber industry flourished here. In 1946, the town was almost completely destroyed by fire but was rebuilt. Later in the 1950's many families resettled here from Bragg's Island' Flat Island and Deer Island.
