Botwood was first established as a sawmill
community in 1911, it became a shipping port for the newly established
paper mill at Grand Falls. It was a refueling stop for the first
trans-Atlantic air passenger service. If you want to experience Botwood as it
was, drop by the Heritage Centre/Museum located on the airbase.
