Harbour Grace
|
| Beginning in 1919, Harbour Grace was used as the
departure point for many early attempts to fly the Atlantic. The first
successful flight from the community was piloted by William Brock and
Edward Schlee of Croyden, England, in August 1927, the same year the
first civilian airport in North America was opened here. |
