Located in Terra Nova National Park west from Port Blandford, just minutes from
the Trans Canada Highway, this coastal community is another popular vacation
spot. In the last century, its rich forests, excellent harbour and shipping
facilities made it one of the major lumbering centres of Bonavista Bay.
With the opening of
Terra Nova National Park in 1957, Charlottetown’s economy evolved to
provide services for the ever increasing number of visitors to the area. When
you visit Charlottetown, be sure to visit the sandy beach, and enjoy the warm
ocean water of Clode Sound.
