Heart's Content Cable Station Provincial Historic Site

Experience a time when information could travel from Europe to North America no faster than the ship that carried it. Learn what a difference it made when the transatlantic telegraph cable transferred that information almost instantaneously. After the failure of two earlier attempts, a permanent transatlantic telegraph cable was landed in 1866. See the equipment and displays explaining role Heart's Content played in communication for almost 100 years. A framed print can be purchased here.
